The Texas Eighth Mile Sprint Assoc.
E.M.S.A. was established in 1998 with the intent to promote non winged cost effective,fun and family oriented brand of Mini Sprint racing.The first year E.M.S.A. was governed by a 3 man board of director consisting of Kevin Reid,Brent Ebel and Dan Thompson.We ran At Battleground Speedways 1/8 mile infield track until its closing in 2000.In 1999 E.M.S.A. Elected Kevin Reid president .A post he held until 2003.At the end of 2001 E.M.S.A. made a new home at Texas Thunder Speedway in Alvin.Were it remained till 2003.At the end of 2003 John Coyle took over as President of E.M.S.A. and the name was change to its present Texas Eighth Mile Sprint Assoc. In 2004 with the closing of many local tracks T.E.M.S.A. took its show on the road.Racing at tracks outside the Houston area(Hot Rod Hill in Bryan and Silsby Speedway in the Beaumont area). After a few years of traveling from track to track.The T.E.M.S.A. has found a new home at 105 Speedway in Cleveland Tx.In 2008 we will be at 105 Speedway along with ventures to Cowtown,Heart of Texas,Houston Raceway Park And Gulfcoast Speedways. In a joint effort of all the governing bodies,tracks and the with help of the ASCS2 .The "A" class cars in Texas have joined forces to put on larger,better paying And entertaining shows. For the fans and racers alike.2008 should be a great year for mini sprint racing as a whole in the state of Texas.
